We have analysed the data released by the Office for National Statistics on parenting in lockdown during Coronavirus and the effects on work-life balance.

  • Parents spent more time on childcare during lockdown
  • Type of childcare changed – more ‘developmental’ childcare delivered
  • Fathers doing more of the ‘enjoyable’ childcare
  • Mothers still doing the majority of childcare – especially for younger children
