Did you know that climate change has a disproportionate impact on women, or that the economy couldn’t function without unpaid care and domestic work?

This is why we need a green and caring economic strategy.  Our latest briefing provides expert policy recommendations for a future Government on how we can do just that.

In our briefing for a future government, we urgently advocate for a transformative shift towards a green and caring economy. It’s high time we recognise the invisible yet essential unpaid work, predominantly carried out by women, which sustains our society but remains largely ignored in economic policies. We emphasise the urgent need for a gender-responsive approach to address the disproportionate impact of climate change on women, who are already bearing the brunt of economic inequalities. Our call for investment in social and physical infrastructure, progressive tax reforms, and transformative changes in the workforce aims to alleviate women’s poverty and foster a more equitable society. It’s not just about saving the planet; it’s about safeguarding the rights and well-being of women for a truly sustainable future.
