Professor Sue Himmelweit
Susan ‘Sue’ Felicity Himmelweit is a British economist, emeritus professor of economics for the Open University in the UK, and was the 2009 president of the International Association for Feminist Economics (IAFFE). She is a member of the management committee for the Women’s Budget Group; member of the editorial board of Feminist Economics; and member of the editorial board of the Journal of Women, Politics & Policy. Sue’s research has focussed on intra-household inequalities, the economics and policy of caring and the gender implications of economic and social policy. She has published widely in academic journals and policy outlets. She has also co- edited a book Economics and Austerity in Europe: Gendered impacts and Sustainable Alternatives. Sue attended Cambridge University where she gained a doctorate in economics.
