An introduction to Stat-Xplore

Join us for a session where we will delve into the fundamentals of Stat-Xplore

Join us online on June 6th for a foundational Stat-Xplore workshop!

Stat-Xplore is a portal that focuses on statistics from the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP) . It allows users to create custom tables to see information on who is claiming various benefits like carers allowance and Universal Credit. Overall, it empowers users to explore, analyse, and extract insights from DWP statistics, facilitating informed decision-making and research in areas such as social welfare, demographics, and equality work.

No experience of working with data or statistics is necessary.

Joining Requirements

This workshop will contain practical exercises. Please join from a space that allows you to talk. You will need to be able to use spreadsheets so joining from a laptop is recommended.

Objective

At the end of the session you will be able to use Stat-Xplore to build a report on your local area for use in equalities work.

We will cover:

· Loging into Stat-Xplore

· Use pre-existing tables

· View time series data as a graph

· Create a custom dataset

· Rearrange tables for the best view

We will move at a slow and steady pace, so don’t worry if you aren’t a tech-savy individual!

Please feel free to get in touch for any further information. Let us know if you have any accessibility requirements and we will do our best to accommodate.
