The WBG invite you to the next in our series of Autumn/Winter webinars addressing the most pressing issues facing women across the UK today.

The Women’s Budget Group invite you to the next in our series of Autumn/Winter webinars addressing the most pressing issues facing women across the UK today.

Parental leave is a key pillar of securing gender equality at home and at work. Britain needs a new system of genuinely shared parental leave to secure better opportunities for parents and infants. ‘Shared Parental Leave Reform’ explored the current system of Shared Parental Leave in the UK, the impact that it has gender equality and what a new system should look like. We also launched our briefing,  ‘Shared Parental Leave reform‘ published jointly with Maternity Action UK.

This discussion was chaired by Sonia Sodha, (The Observer/ Guardian) and we heard from Jules Allen (UK Women’s Budget Group) Ros Bragg (Maternity Action) Adrienne Burgess (Fatherhood Institute ) Charlotte Nichols MP ( Shadow Equalities Minister), Wera Hobhouse MP (Liberal Democrats Equality spokesperson) Maria Miller MP (Former Chair of the Women & Equalities Committee) as they explored the shared parental leave system and the need for reform to further gender equality in the UK.
