Chancellor of the Exchequer, Sajid Javid, has announced that the government has bought forward the Spending Review to take place on September 4th 2019. WBG have booked a room at Voluntary Action Islington to view and analyse the Spending Review announcements. We expect the Spending Review announcements to last between 12:00 to 14:00.

After the Chancellor’s speech, members will discuss the key gender implications of the Spending Review and issue an immediate response. If you would like to stay on to discuss further you are welcome to do so.

WBG have produced a briefing, Women and the Spending Review, it clearly sets out areas the government needs to prioritise in order to end austerity and fully fund public services and local government to a sustainable level. This includes priorotising spending on Social Care, Violence Against Women and Girls Services, Health and Social Security. Read the full briefing here

We look forward to you joining us at the Spending Review viewing. All members are welcome!
