The case for equality at home and at work has rarely been stronger. The coronavirus pandemic has exposed many of the residual inequalities in our society and economy: data shows how key workers have been neglected and how women are picking up the load of childcare and home schooling.

2020 has shown many of us that wellbeing and care are central to our everyday lives but this isn’t how the economy is currently measured. In this short session we will explore how these ideas about inclusion and community can create policy for a more inclusive economy.

We’ll discuss:

  • What has the pandemic taught us about the way we work, care and live? Have their been different experiences for women and men?
  • What do we think needs to change?
  • Do we think GDP is still fit for purpose in 2020?

Please note this event is free and open to all but registration is mandatory. You will need to sign up for a FREE OBSERVER electronic pass for Conservative Party Conference 2020 to attend this event.
