Local Data Project

Welcome to the Local Data Project

Building grassroots capacity to access and use equalities data

What is the local data project?

The Local Data Project is a UK Women’s Budget Group project to build and strengthen the capacity of local organisations who campaign for women’s equality to access and use equality data in their advocacy and campaign work.

  • A national research programme focusing on economic equality topics.
  • A training workshop programme for local women’s organisations and individuals. Workshops are free and open to all.
  • Coordinated local campaigns. Use the data from the research programme and the training workshops to maximise impact locally, and nationally.
  • Links to resources. Use our templates and toolkits in your campaigns. Find publicly available datasets more easily.

Why a local data project?

We want to enable organisations and individuals campaigning for equality to be more comfortable and knowledgeable in accessing and using quantitative data.

Who is the local data project for?

We want to work together with grassroots organisations and individuals across the UK, in the devolved nations and in all English regions.

If you are a seasoned data user, don’t know where to begin, or something in between, we want to hear from you!
